SPECIAL ISSUE:

 

Social Media and Learning

 

Editors-in-Chief: Lisa Gualtieri, PhD, ScM and Wendy Williams, BSN, MEd

 

 

This special issue aims to present experiences with and research on how social media impacts education and training in the classroom and in online courses. Submissions can be research papers, short papers, case studies, interviews, or videos.

 

Recommended topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

 

- Student attitudes to social media in and out of the classroom
- Faculty training on social media technologies
- Student training on social media
- Experiences with specific social media technologies
- Attitudes of administration to social media use
- Pedagogical benefits
- Integration with curricula
- Policies and legal issues with social media use
- Use of social media for class projects or research
- Use of social media to reach outside experts, teachers, or students
- Use of social media for office hours and scheduled chats
- Social media and specific disciplines within education and training

 

DEADLINE DATES

 

Submission: 15 December 2011
Notification of review outcomes: 31 December 2011
Final submission: 15 January 2012
Publication date:  5 February 2012
